This is where I collect and write things, mostly on academe and artificial intelligence. Established in 2010, by Vaishak Belle.
Not that it is necessarily of interest to anyone in particular, but I’ve decided to change the name of my blog. It was previously “elbow room” - a space to explore unusual topics as the name indicates (and also partly inspired by the title of Daniel Dennet’s book), but that was ages ago, a little less than a decade ago in fact. These days I’m finding myself writing almost entirely about AI and academia, and perhaps a few productivity tips and mental health notes thrown in. Moreover, in AI, my position has always been the integration of reasoning and learning, hence the new name: robots that reason. (Also, there’s an another announcement involving this name coming soon.)
