ELBOW ROOM

This is where I collect and write things, mostly on academe and artificial intelligence. Established in 2010, by Vaishak Belle.

  1. When there are many things to do, and your attention is split into unmanageable pieces, it can feel like you aren’t doing anything well and more seriously that there’s nothing you do well. But it’s a trap that we fall into in the spirit of busyness. Sure many things need to get done but not all at the same time. You can even add things to your stack if it’s work involving deep focus that brings back a sense of calm.

Sure this means things may take longer than expected, and some things may fall through the cracks. But that happens anyway. Might as well do it in a way that brings joy. Start your day with chunks of deep focus.
