Is avatar 2 an indulgent movie, or plain lame? I can’t quite make out for myself after watching it. Some parts felt like an Attenborough-style exploration of an alien world. The character development of the Navi was relaxed and unusual. Long but comfortable to watch. The fight scenes with the marines and their overall shtick felt tired and boring.
I don’t think I can get myself to sit through it for a second time given the length.
PS unrelated to avatar but regarding second time watchable or not - I tried watching tenet once again just to see if I’d appreciate the movie better the second time. Didn’t get past the first 10 minutes before giving up. Brad Feld on his blog called it a “hot mess” and that’s how I’d rate it too.
