It’s sad to see Richard Dawkins fall prey to the usual anti-woke trope that diversity + pronoun inclusivity = destruction of civilisation. His irritation and supposed concern is small in comparison to the real emotional and physical harms racialised and minority groups face.
Also: Privilege doesn’t mean you didn’t work hard to get where you are. It means someone else was denied chances to prove themselves the same way owing to their group characteristics, or sometimes even openly discouraged. The lack of privilege can be so profound that there is no way to make up for lost opportunities.
