This is where I collect and write things, mostly on academe and artificial intelligence. Established in 2010, by Vaishak Belle.
I can’t remember its title or author, but many years ago I recall reading a science fiction story about a future world that has run out of Ph.D. thesis topics, and a desperate student sells his soul to the devil for a subject. Perhaps someday physics students will find themselves in this sorry state, but I suspect that, even as the physicists bargain away their souls, cognitive robotics Ph.D. candidates will still be struggling with the mysteries of modeling human-level behaviours.
