    It’s okay to criticise systems for their failures even if you don’t have a formal definition of what success looks like. You may have a loose desiderata stemming from comparable systems (eg cognitive science, human level commonsense) that might in the first instance allow you to see that current approaches based on big data alone don’t quite fit the bill.
