ELBOW ROOM

This is where I collect and write things, mostly on academe and artificial intelligence. Established in 2010, by Vaishak Belle.

  1. I’ve seen a lot of posters up around the university on mental health, and I think it is vital to appreciate it. I’ll have more to say on this but in the interim, for those looking to get started with meditation: I’ve tried a few meditation apps, including headspace and waking up, but I find oak to be the simplest and least disruptive without putting a lot of thought into which kind of technique and program to get into. It’s free.

There’s also a recent one called medito if you are interested in trying out a 10 day program, and it too is free. Oak offers the standard vipasana practice of following your breath, like headspace. if you’d like to try the deeper dzogchen method of non dual meditation, I’d consider waking up or Loch Kelly’s videos on YouTube.
